I’m so excited to be writing this article today! This new, mobile device enabled website has been LONG in the making. There have been many delays in its design and release, primarily because there are always other “fires” to put out. But it’s done, and I feel re-energized! There are a couple of key additions to our new website for our current families.

The first addition is an updated “Current Families” section. Here all enrolled families can access individual content pages containing Odyssey information, including Visit My Child (Internet Video Monitoring), Classroom Happenings (weekly teacher newsletter), Chef’s Corner (weekly menu), Odyssey Social Network (our school partners), School Calendar and Tell Us What You Think! (our new feedback page that links directly to my email).

The second addition is simply a condensed, quick summary page containing the most relevant parent information for each individual school (Inverness, Trace Crossings). Find these links at the very top right corner of each page on this site. You can bookmark these and easily return daily to access your child's classroom happenings, weekly menu, important announcements (i.e. weather closings, alerts), upcoming events, and contact information -- all on a single page. We hope it to be a convenient way for you to keep in touch with your child's school.

We’ve been active for some time on Facebook at each school, but I’m going to become a regular presence on each of the other social media sites where I feel that Odyssey can share neat information about our schools and about children and family issues in general.

Please visit this section again soon. I am looking forward to providing regular updates on both Odyssey schools, and also to sharing information about early childhood in general and about fun things for families going on around Birmingham.
