Tuition Rates

Odyssey’s goal is not only to be the very best educational childcare program anywhere in the country; we intend to remain a tremendous value relative to the incredible level of service offered.

The first thing that’s noteworthy is Odyssey’s inclusion of our prices on our website. Virtually no other daycare program will provide their rates without forcing you to come in for a tour. Every aspect of our operation, however, is an open book and our inclusion of all rates on this site is just the first signal of that approach.

Our current and last five years of tuition rates are included for your review. While we evaluate the need for a tuition increase each January, they usually are around 2% - 3% when they do occur; our goal is to keep pace with cost increases while continuing to offer our staff pay and benefits well above the industry norms, all while remaining close in cost to other area daycare centers that don’t offer near the level of service as that provided at Odyssey.

Odyssey charges only three fees; an Annual Enrollment Fee charged once per year per family, monthly tuition and monthly diapers (if your child is not potty-trained). Most daycares have the parents bring their diapers and wipes. We charge an approximate $2 per day monthly diaper fee – you will save money by buying fewer diapers and wipes at home and won’t have to bother with keeping up with them and carting them back and forth to school. That’s it – no food fees, no arts or supplies fees, etc. Simple.

If you are considering other options for your family’s childcare needs, please make sure to ask them about all of their fees, as many Birmingham-area daycare centers charge for meals, supplies and other items that are all included in Odyssey’s base tuition. We are confident that once you compare apples-to-apples, our tuition will compare very favorably to every other alternative you might consider.

We also ask that if you are comparing our rates against other Birmingham-area daycares or preschools who charge weekly, please remember that there are 52 weeks in 12 months each year which equals an average of 4.33 weeks per month; there will be months under a weekly-pay system where you have five payments, making those months much more expensive. We just ask that you factor this in to your decision as you evaluate your options with regards to price and we have included a note regarding the equivalent weekly tuition for each of our monthly rates.

Annual Enrollment Fee
$175, per family, per year. If paid as a wait list deposit, will be credited as the first year’s Annual Enrollment Fee. Subsequent Annual Enrollment Fees are due with the tuition for each year’s anniversary month of initial enrollment.
Discounts
Multi-child discount of $160 per child, starting with second child, when all children are enrolled in Odyssey’s full-time programs, five days per week, and are all paying Odyssey’s full current tuition rates. The discount will be adjusted following any withdrawal or change in schedule.
Late Payment Fee
All tuition and fees, including any Annual Enrollment Fee, are due on the 25th day of the preceding month. Payment is late after 6 pm on the 1st calendar day of the month for which tuition is due, even if the 1st is a weekend or other day of closure. After the 1st calendar day, the late payment fee is $30, plus $7 per business day after the first business day of the month.
Withdrawal
Odyssey requires a full calendar month written notice of withdrawal for each child. This is not the same thing as “30 days notice.” There is no proration of the last month’s tuition. The notice period is the tuition month in which Odyssey has written withdrawal notice on or before the first calendar day of that month; the final tuition payment always will be through the last calendar day of the month of withdrawal. Parents are responsible for all tuition and fees, including late and other assessed fees, until satisfactory notice is provided.
